Everyone in high school having a car
In many American high school dramas, the parking lot is full of students’ cars, implying that the majority of students drive themselves to schools. There are also scenes where kids arrive to pick up their friends and all drive in together.
The reality? Well, the difference is that in America you can get a learner’s permit when you are 14 in some states, and then you can drive with a qualified driver. You can then drive for real once you’ve passed your test at 17. So some high school seniors can drive themselves and their friends to school.
