Black holes do not suck up matter like in the movies
If you believe that black holes consume anything and everything in their vicinity, think again. The movies and sci-fi books got this one wrong. Black holes are similar to other stars like the Sun; they don’t “suck in” objects. Instead, a strong gravitational force pulls others towards it.
Did we debunk your space vacuum theory? The gravitational force of a black hole sucks matter towards it, joining its existing mass. That is why black holes grow in mass, not size; they become wider rather than bigger. Just as the sun has a gravitational force holding everything near it in place, so too does a black hole contain everything within proximity to it.
