A Soviet tea tin contained this touching letter. Ron, or whatever the bottom inscription is, wrote Frank a late note — belated because the prospect of further correspondence made him physically ill. Man, do we have empathy for you! To make that harsh medicine a little more palatable, he included the aforementioned tea tin, which is fascinating in and of itself.

How did an American during the Cold War obtain a device like this? Regardless, if you were concerned for Ron and/or Frank’s well-being, the Russian text simply reads “Tea: Georgian extra” (meaning not the U.S. state).
