A childhood bet comes back 25 years later
Backstory – the original poster’s mother found this $1 bill when cleaning her child’s room. It had belonged to her late husband, who made a wager with his 6-year-old son regarding the outcome of the 1992 World Series.

The story goes that the retired general won a large sum of money betting on his favorite team, the Atlanta Braves, to win. Holt’s father died two months later, and this bill was delivered 25 years to the day after the title-winning game. It was kept in a plastic wrapper in his father’s wallet, demonstrating how precious it was to him.
