The Name Game
Naming a human is hard. Everyone and their mom has an opinion on whether you should cross off the names on your list or have them inked onto the birth certificate before someone else “takes” the same name, because of course, there can only be one Little Olivia or Liam or else the universe will implode.

If you believe our names shape our personalities, you might scroll through Nameberry, keeping a tally of everyone you know with each name and the crimes they’ve committed against you before eighty-sixing them. And then there’s those of us embroiled in negotiations with our husbands who want to name our children after Star Wars characters. We like Finn, but we need more convincing for Anakin, and Jar-Jar is a hard “no.”
