#49: Backpack Drama
There are unspoken rules that New Yorkers follow when riding the subway. When someone breaks one of those rules, either intentionally or by accident, things can get really wild. Fellow passengers do not hesitate to call someone out or start a confrontation if they see someone acting a fool. This overheard fight seems like a subway gray area.
A woman was yelling at another passenger because they hit her with their backpack while riding the subway. This lady had every right to be upset, because not apologizing is pretty rude. Also, when the trains are crowded people take off their backpacks and wedge them between their feet. On the other hand, this other passenger seemed unphased by her yelling and seemed to think wearing a backpack was fine since you agree to give up your personal space when entering a train car. Who do you think is right?
