Ancient teeth analysis suggests Native Americans may not have come from Japan
Although many people believe that Native Americans originate from Japan, there is evidence to suggest otherwise. In fact, a new study has invalidated such beliefs. The majority of people still believe that although their original roots may not be known, America’s first inhabitants were the Jomon people from Japan. However, the new analysis suggests otherwise.
Out of the ancient teeth studied from various locations in Asia, the Pacific, and America, only 7% were found to be similar between the Jomon people of Japan and Native Americans. According to research findings, it is more likely that Native Americans originated from Siberia instead. Although this does not solidify Native Americans as being descendants of the Jomon people, it isn’t entirely surprising either, considering this has always been a highly debated topic.
