Why Would They?
If you’re a fan of the English language, then you’ll love this fun fact: it’s packed full of German words! That’s right, from kindergarten to sauerkraut, there are tons of German words that are commonly used in English. And let’s be real, who doesn’t love a good schnitzel or pretzel?
Germans also use plenty of English words which solidifies the relationship between Germany and English-speaking countries. However, we can’t forget that American English isn’t even the OG of all the variants spoken across the globe, and it’s just plain weird to expect a country to refer to itself by another country’s language.
