The birds and the bees discussion is an uncomfortable topic for everyone in the family, but it still is a topic that should not be avoided. It’s likely that a child is going to ask Mom or Dad “where do babies come from?” and as parents, they should be prepared for an answer and a discussion. 

Because this topic was avoided like the plague, this girl’s older brother genuinely thought that she was adopted because one day she wasn’t there, and all of the sudden, she appeared.
