Meeting new people can be difficult, especially if you’re an introvert. Your social anxiety may go through the roof whenever you approach someone new. Just remember – strangers are just friends you haven’t met yet. Or, conversely, they’re actually strangers that you’ll never meet because the world is so vast and densely populated. But we digress. Below, you’ll find a list of incredibly random, yet interesting facts that’ll surely break the ice when you encounter someone new or the next time you have a family dinner.
A Fruit or a Vegetable?
We often mistake fruits for vegetables and the other way around. For example, while tomato is commonly referred to as a vegetable, it’s actually a fruit. The same goes for cucumbers. Not many people know, but the green vegetable we all know and love is not a vegetable at all. Biology-wise, it is classified as a berry.
You know, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and so on and so forth. Even though they look and taste different from the other berries we know and love, cucumbers are technically part of the berry family. In a way, you could say cucumbers are the ugly duckling of the family, the odd one out. But we love it nonetheless.
