Too Much Makeup
Lipstick is a part of the filming process. There’s no actor or actress that will hop in front of a camera without going through the painstaking process of putting makeup on. Plus, the right makeup can make someone look like royalty, which is probably why Rose had to be slathered in the stuff.
But in actuality, a real-life Rose, someone who’s rich and classy, wouldn’t have worn makeup at the time. In 1912, makeup was viewed as a way for poor people to appear classier. Being a classy woman already, makeup would’ve been beneath her. So, no lipstick, no blush, no nothin’.
