This image is for the aspiring paleontologist in all of us. When Jurassic Park dominated movie theaters around the world, children everywhere aspired to be sexy, dinosaur-fighting archeologists. Or maybe it was Ross Geller from Friends who inspired you—no judgment.
Serpent D’Océan is the official name of this art piece, which is located on the beachline of Saint-Brevin-Les-Pins. This full-metal art project is shaped like a Chinese mythological dragon. Huang Yong Ping produced the sculpture in 2012, and his original intention was to make a statement against man’s mistreatment of the ocean and all of its inhabitants. It’s quite ironic if you think about it.
