Katie Couric was always set for success. She attended several high schools in her hometown, Arlington, Virginia, and never failed to make the cheerleading squad at each institution. Even though she truly showed a passion for the sport, she did not continue after high school. Although it’s obvious from Couric’s successful career that her passion to perform lingered.  

Couric pursued a career in television after graduating from the University of Virginia. Her career began at ABC News before moving on to CNN. Couric received her big break in television co-anchoring Now alongside Tom Brokaw before moving on to Yahoo! News. Couric is now the founder of her own production company, Katie Couric Media.
