Denise Richards, a major household name in movie and television shows during the 1980s and 1990s, went through a tomboy phase in her early teen years before taking up an interest in cheerleading. Richards was on the cheerleading squad for El Camino High School and found a love for acting after graduating in 1989.

Since setting her pom-poms to the side, Richards has starred in very successful films such as Starship Troopers, The World is not Enough, Wild Things and Love Actually. Richards was given the opportunity to reminisce with cheerleading for her role in the 2019 film, The Secret Lives of Cheerleaders.
