Renter’s Association
If you’re a renter, you usually don’t have to pay HOA fees, even if you’re renting in a community that has them. However, when you rent from an independent landlord, you always run the risk of having to deal with some really weird requests. This person is glad they don’t have to pay an HOA fee because they don’t own a home.
However, they still have to deal with weirdly specific rules and regulations where they live. Their landlord wrote a rule into the rental contract requiring white curtains in all the windows. The fact that the landlord wrote such a specific, tiny request into the rental contract is a red flag. Hopefully, they’re not a giant micromanagers, but they probably are.
