“No Parking in Your Driveway”: Reddit Users Share Wild and Confusing HOA Rules and Regulations

This story sounds like thinly veiled racism, and we’re not here for it. This OP and their family used to live in a neighborhood with an HOA that liked to pay extra attention to their home and goings-on. So much so that they were repeatedly fined for putting out decorations for Indian holidays and celebrations.  

When they had Diwali lamps outside their front door, they got fined as a “fire hazard.” When they had chalk and powder decorations for Holi, the HOA complained about the “eyesore” in their driveway. Wow. The HOA even complained about the flower garlands they put up for harvest season. Meanwhile, no one who put up Christmas garlands or Easter decorations was fined or singled out. Seems like we all know what was going on there…
