Waiting for food to cool before sticking it in the fridge
You’ve probably heard of this myth before. If you put hot food in the fridge, it will promote faster bacteria growth and spoil your dish. However, simple science tells us differently. In fact, even if the dish is piping hot, if you need to go, place it in the fridge immediately.
The longer we leave food at room temperature, the more bacteria can grow. The general rule is that food should only remain in room temperature areas for two hours at most. If you’re not going to eat any time soon, place it in the fridge to reduce the risk of bacteria growth.
