Alaska – Native American Tribe At Fort Tongass
Eadweard Muybridge was one of the earliest and most successful photographers of the era who took this historic photograph. In 1968, while on a trip to Fort Tongass, he managed to take this shot of a group of Native Americans at their house, The group was part of the Tlingit People.
The territory belonged to the Native American community at the time and was not known to be part of the United States. The Tlingit People had lived in the region for generations and while adopting a matrilineal bloodline, were known for possessing very strong family values and traditions.
